The Vinosanto Process
Custom Crush
We specialize in a Custom Crush approach to winemaking. So what exactly is a Custom Crush wine? A custom crush is a wine that is produced by a bonded winery that has been contracted to make wine for other labels.
Vinosanto grapes are sourced from from independent growers in California. Once we have the grapes, we send them to Appellation Trading Company, in Napa California, where the wine is made and bottled using state of the art equipment.
The result is phenomenal wines that will compliment your meal and delight your palette.
Best of Class, Gold Medal Winner
2015 – Vinosanto Pinot Noir
This Pinot is made with passion. We have chosen our vines, earth and winemakers with great care – and the proof is in the wine. The flavors come through beautifully in this wine, revealing all the grandeur of our California coastal vineyards.
Tasting Notes
This Pinot Noir has a deep ruby color with aromas of black cherry, violets, dried strawberries with subtle notes of pie crust and dried thyme. The entry of this wine shows a nice playful acidity which transitions to nice fine-grained tannins which accent a light bodied mid palate and finish.
Pairings
This is a fruit forward Pinot Noir with aromatic complexity that is hard to find at this price point. The acidity and balance in this wine lend itself to a versatility that allows you to pair this wine with either a snack, a full dinner or even a book by the fireplace. For dinner, I would recommend pairing this wine with just about any Italian dish such as spaghetti and meatballs or homemade lasagna or even a barbequed chicken with greek seasoning.
Bronze Medal Winner
2016 – Vinosanto Chardonnay
The Vinosanto Chardonnay is an outstanding example of how much this varietal excels in the cooler regions of Northern California. The region is known for producing outstanding Chardonnays, and this one is no exception.
Tasting Notes
This full-flavored Chardonnay is the essence of sunny California in a wine glass. It is Golden straw in color with inviting aromas of toasted coconut, banana cream pie and ripe pineapple. A few sips later, slight notes of graham cracker crust and hints of black cardamom appear in the background. On the palate, this voluptuous wine is rich, ripe and flavorful from start to finish.
Pairings
Pair this Chardonnay with chicken Marsala, seared scallops and even buttered popcorn. Serve this wine cool and watch the aromas open up at the table.
